On November 9, 2025, Yad Vashem USA Foundation hosted its inaugrual “Spread the Light: Commemorating Kristallnacht in a Shattered World” at the New York Historical Manhattan’s Upper West Side. More than 300 leaders, influencers, and community members gathered for an afternoon of remembrance and a renewed commitment to combating antisemitism and hate.

The program featured Yad Vashem Chairman Dani Dayan, Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Bret Stephens, and CNN Senior Global Affairs Analyst Bianna Golodryga, who served as emcee and moderator, along with Holocaust survivors and students from Columbia, Barnard, and JTS’s Pizmon Choir.

This year’s memorial was especially meaningful following Yad Vashem’s milestone of documenting more than five million names of Holocaust victims. As Dani Dayan noted: “Kristallnacht was not only a night of shattered glass—it was a night that shattered humanity’s conscience. Our duty today is to ensure that the world never again stands silent in the face of hatred.”
