On Sunday, April 19, Yad Vashem USA Foundation served as a partner for the JCRC Long Island Yom Hashoah event at Temple Shaaray Shalom in West Hempstead Long Island. The event was open to the public and attracted several hundred members of the Long Island community in person and was also available to watch virtually.
This year’s keynote speaker was Rabbi Menachin Creditor, Scholar-in-Residence for UJA Federation of New York. Additionally, Egon Salmon (z”l), a German-born survivor and US Army veteran, was remembered for his courageous journey on the MS St. Louis and his ongoing contributuions to Holocaust Education.
Other organizations that partnered with JCRC-LI include 3GNY, ADL, AJC-LI, HMTC of Nassau County, UJA Federation of NY, and many more.
