Dr. Serafima Velkovich, Head of the Family Roots Research Section at the Yad Vashem Archives, visited Florida together with Beth Katznelson and Judith Osers Muller. During their visit, they toured the Naples Holocaust Memorial, the Florida Holocaust Museum, and the Miami Beach Holocaust Memorial, meeting with leaders and local community members to strengthen professional ties and reinforce shared efforts to preserve survivor testimony, family histories, and archival records. These visits underscored the vital role of collaboration between Yad Vashem and U.S.-based institutions in ensuring accurate and responsible Holocaust education. Throughout her stay, Dr. Velkovich focused her lectures and conversations on the theme, “Family Memory as a Way to Reconstruct Our Identity.”
