Eighty years have passed since the defeat of Nazi Germany and the end of the Holocaust, marking a solemn reminder of humanity’s fragility as well as its capacity for evil. As the Jewish community prepares to share the story of the Holocaust without living survivors, we reflect on our commitment to preserving this critical history. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, especially from the USA, Yad Vashem continues to dedicate itself to sharing the legacy of this pivotal event worldwide.

In these challenging times, characterized by a rise in global antisemitism and ongoing tensions facing the Jewish community, the Yad Vashem USA Foundation plays an essential role in supporting the many facets of Yad Vashem’s activities – in education, research, documentation and Holocaust remembrance. The foundation’s outreach impacts our educational initiatives and helps ensure that the lessons of the Holocaust are remembered and actively taught, fostering awareness and understanding in today’s evolving society.

Yad Vashem has a dynamic campus and continually invests in innovative projects. An immersive audio-visual experience in the Valley of Communities now tells the story of the vibrant Jewish life that was lost with the rise of the Nazis. At the new Touching Memories theater, audiences can connect with the past through compelling monodramas. The new Moshal Shoah Legacy Campus, with the state-of-the-art Shapell Collections Center at its heart, houses the world’s largest collection of Holocaust-related items, preserving evidence and personal stories for future generations. To extend our educational efforts beyond Jerusalem, we have opened the Yad Vashem Education Center for Holocaust Remembrance on the Ariel Sharon IDF Training Base and plan to establish additional centers soon.
